Christmas Festivities!

Leah & I ventured to the Farmers Market to buy a little tree to put in our bay window! It fit perfectly in Leah's trunk! We didn't have a tree stand so we tried for at least 45 minutes to rig one up but it was unsuccessful so we went to Big Lots to buy a stand (a poor quality one at that) so our poor little tree leans. I didn't get a picture of the finished product but it is great!
Leah & attempted 'tree stand'
This is Leah "sawing/cutting" the branches off the bottom using a pair of kitchen scissors that broke and then a kitchen knife which finally did the trick. We were struggling.
My lovely friend Madison hosted a craft party at her house the Sunday before exams. She prepared lots of great food and was a great hostess!

Another Break!

It seems like the only time I'm able to blog is when there is a break! The past few weeks have been busy and thing have finally settled down. Soon I will have to put away the computer and start studying for the CPA exam :(

Here are a few pictures of recent happenings!

My sweet Bible Study girls celebrated Christ's birth by coming over to my house for dinner, a little game of dirty Santa, and cookie decorating! They are a joy to be around and I love seeing God at work in their lives!

Finally a Break!

Praise the Lord Thanksgiving break is here! I'm so thankful for this little time to regroup and prepare for the last week of class filled with presentations and assignments. The past few weeks have been crazy! I haven't taken many pictures but here are a few:

Me & Leah were able to go to the first basketball exhibition in Reynolds! The games seem so much more fun in Reynolds!

I got to watch my bro run/finish his first 1/2 Marathon!

I was able to perform "Close Your Eyes" at the NCSU Dance Company Fall Concert! Lauren and I always enjoy performing this piece and it was exciting to be a part of the alumni concert! I had many wonderful supporters: 8 people from my MAC Bible Study came as well as Leah, Tiffany, my parents, the Hortons & Erin & Jeremy! Thanks for coming!!!!

NC State Football!

I was born and raised and State fan so of course I love Wolfpack sports and never a fair-weather fan (which my bro is becoming...Mark this is not ok and you can't cheer for UNC). Anyways, I haven't been able to go to as many football games as I would like because of school but here are a few pictures from the games I have been able to go to.

Me & Leah before the rain came.
Me & Lindsey...she is in the MAC program with me and has an amazing heart to share the Gospel with the people in the Amazon!

JOB!

Since the beginning of the school year, I have been attending many 'recruiting' events for an accounting position in tax. It has been a long and exhausting process but God has been so gracious in providing for my every need and even sustaining me through all the interviews/dinners/socials/office visits! I was overwhelmed at God's goodness to me during that time and it was a humbling process. After 2 months of recruiting stuff, I can now say that I have accepted an offer from Grant Thornton in Raleigh! I have much peace about this decision and am looking forward to the professional life! I won't begin the job until September 2009 so until then I will be taking the CPA exam starting in January and hopefully finishing in August...Lord-willing!

blogging=scary

I've always wanted to blog and enjoy reading other people blogs so I decided to take a step of faith and go for it! Hopefully it will be a way for me to praise God for all that He has done and share with others what He's teaching me!

Shout with joy to God, all the earth!
Sing the glory of his name; make his praise glorious!
Say to God, "How awesome are your deeds! So great is your power that your enemies cringe before you.
All the earth bows down to you; they sing praise to you, they sing praise to your name." Selah
Come and see what God has done, how awesome his works in man's behalf!
